Yes there is definitely a wide variety of sports bottles out there just as with the many varieties of sports. Sports bottles are an essential in any gym bag as a person who has done some form of work out needs to hydrate because of the loss of liquid in the body. Here are some types of bottles and what kind of sports is ideal for it:

1) Cycling

For avid cyclists, a bottle that fits nicely in the bicycle compartment is essential. Most cyclists prefer a sports bottle that isn’t too much of hassle and one that has a water outlet that doesn’t need to be popped or uncapped or needs the other hand to open the lid. For cyclists, the best option would be plastic squeezable bottle. Squeezable bottles are ideal as it is a pick-me-up and drink all by using the method of squeezing water right out of the bottle and into the mouth. It’s fast, efficient and ideal. The perfect cyclist sports bottle has to be flexi-grip with an easy squeeze action as well as an easy flow drinking push cap.

2) Hiking

Most hikers also prefer the squeezable bottle but very recently, the canteen type sports bottle is becoming a favorite. This is much preferred by hikers as it is made out of aluminum and is durable as well as lightweight. Its capacity to hold more water is another reason of its popularity. Most hikers prefer aluminum based bottles as it is more rigid. Canteen type bottles are ergonomically designed for easy grip, mobility and handling.

3) Athletics

This sport can use any type of bottle whether it is a screw cap, squeezer or pop up bottles. But a good choice would be to get insulated sports bottles as athletics is mainly done outdoors and the sun can make the water in the bottle hot and you definitely want water that is cooling and not hot after working out. Insulated bottles keep water in its optimum cool temperature.

4) Camping

Camping also needs an aluminum or stainless steel sports bottle. When looking for an ideal bottle for camping, purchase one with more than 24 ounces of liquid storage. Gripping is also important and also get one with an easy latch and can hook on to Carabiners and any strap. Though large in size, these aluminum bottles are light weight which makes carrying and storing much better.

5) Water Sports

Do you really need a sports bottle for diving? Definitely not when you are underwater. For water sports, you need an adequately sized water bottle that gives you enough hydration. Doing water activities can also hydrate the body. What you need is a non-slip, rubber grip bottle, semi-transparent bottle. It has to be non slip and easy grip because your palms and hands are wet which makes it harder to grip things. Aluminum will not do that trick that’s why it is easier to have a rubber grip or plastic bottle.

Swimming is obviously a good exercise for the body. It is a good work out for basically the whole body. It’s a nice cardiovascular activity and stretches your legs and thigh muscles, as well as your arms and your entire upper body. It can give you exercise similar to what two or three gym equipment does.

However, you can’t always be at the swimming pool everyday. Having swimming as a part of your daily exercise routine is not as cheap as buying newspapers. Commercial swimming pools costs some money, and if you will do this everyday, it sure costs a lot. There may be swimming pool amenities in subdivisions and clubhouses that are free depending on your home owners association, but it sure isn’t as nice as you would expect. Sports centers on the other hand may offer you good swimming pool facilities, but it requires heavy pocket.

Because of all these reasons, you probably would disregard the idea of having swimming as a part of their fitness routine. What you do not realize yet is that you can have the swimming fitness routine that you wanted without spending too much. All you need to do is to build your own swimming pool at home.

Seems even more expensive? It actually isn’t. Having your own swimming pool at home can provide you all the benefits of being in a swimming complex without actually spending as much. There are a lot of pool stores that provides high-quality but very affordable pool supplies to help you start with your swimming pool. All you need are pool filter parts to keep your swimming pool clean, pool liners for your pool wall, pool heater parts in case you want to install a pool heater, and pool leaf covers to keep it clean from falling leaves whenever you’re not using it. It does not have to be very big because what you want to achieve is good exercise. You can choose between inground or above ground pools, depending on your preferences. You can also customize the look of your pool with colorful pool paints and fancy pool liners depending on your taste. After all, it’s much comfortable to be at your home doing all those fitness routines.

Building your own swimming pool at home may cost quite a lot at first because you have to buy all the necessary parts for your swimming pool and hire someone knowledgeable to install it. However, after everything’s done and you already have your pool built, you won’t spend much at all. You can have your daily morning exercise at the pool everyday without paying per hour. It’s even less hassle because you can have whatever food you want after each exercise.

It would be a better idea to install a pool heater on your swimming pool as it also has a lot of health benefits. Pool heaters can maintain your swimming pool’s relaxing temperature, more like of a jacuzzi or spa. This is a good alternative whenever you want to relax your body every other day in replacement of your body exercise. Warm temperature is good for sore muscles and back aches, and it’s a good way to cool down your tired body.

All the health benefits of a swimming pool can be at your home, so why not start building your own swimming pool right now? Pool supplies will not cost much, promise.

Extreme Sports. We all know the images and ideals that these two little words conjure up when put together. Adrenalin. No Fear. Human v Nature. Liklihood of severe injury – High. Yet for those of us who embrace extreme sports these things are gagged, tied up and pushed into the dark recesses of our brains and all we know is the excitement and passion for doing them. The over-arching name ‘Extreme Sports’ is banded about very freely nowadays and it has become a houshold term in our daily language, even my ancient relatives know what I’m talking about. So my 2 main questions are: Where did these ‘extreme sports’ spring from and how long have they been around?

Well the answer is: They’re OLD! Maybe we haven’t always called them ‘extreme’ or ‘sports’ but the fact is people have always attempted to push the physical boundaries. Wikipedia will tell you that ‘Extreme Sports’ really picked up pace in the 1950′s, and although this is true to some degree, it is also true to say that us human lot have been doing bloody psychotic things for centuries!

So what is the definition of an extreme sport?

Collins Dictionary states: “Any of various sports with a high risk of injury or death” Alrighty, glad we cleared that up, but what do others say?

Dictionary.com states “Any athletic endeavor considered more dangerous than others, such as bungee jumping, snowboarding; also called action sport” Okay, well that’s a little different from the previous bumpf but we’ll go with it…

Macmillan Dictionary states: “A sport or activity that is exciting and dangerous, for example bungee jumping, white-water rafting, or snowboarding.” Erm…

So the definitions are quite different from ‘death’ to ‘danger’ to ‘excitement’. And the truth is that the definition of ‘extreme sport’ is continuously evolving. During the 1970-80′s, only sports such as white-water rafting where death wasn’t unusual would have of been considered extreme. Today you can buy a white-water rafting lesson on lastminute.com and not bat an eyelash. The definition has evolved over the past 3 decades to include sports that offer an element of danger but an adrenaline rush too.

Sports which have gained a reputation of being ‘extreme’ are sometimes a variation of a safer sport that is performed at a greater level of difficulty and with more danger attached. An example of this type of extreme sport would be mountain biking – while bicycling is often considered to be relatively safe, the modification of adding a high speed downhill though a wooded terrain with jumps would not be considered safe for the average bicyclist and although skiing is relatively common place nowadays with little kids showing us all up on the slopes, skiing off piste is not for the faint-hearted and is considered ‘extreme’ due to its’ element of danger.

The one thing which all extreme sports share is the unpredictability element. This is usually dictated by weather, environment and terrain. These are all to varying degrees, uncontrollable variables when practicing an extreme sport and it is these natural uncontrollable phenomena which separate ‘sports’ from ‘extreme sports’. For example: A high-jumper, although tremendously strong, athletic and in peak physical fitness is able to control their environment, however snowboarders have to be aware of the snow conditions, rock and ice quality for climbers and wave height, shape and intensity for surfers, see what I mean?

In 2004, Joe Tomlinson author of the ‘Ultimate Encyclopedia of Extreme Sports’ classified extreme sports into those that take place in air, land, and water

Nine air sports are mentioned including: BASE jumping, bungee jumping, gliding, hang gliding, high wire, ski jumping, sky diving, sky surfing, and sky flying.

Eighteen land sports including:indoor climbing, adventure racing, aggressive inline skating, BMX, caving, extreme motocross, extreme skiing, freestyle skiing, land and ice yachting, mountain biking, mountain boarding, outdoor climbing, sandboarding, skateboarding, snowboarding, snowmobiling, speed biking, speed skiing, scootering and street luge.

Fifteen water sports including: barefoot water skiing, cliff diving, free-diving, jet skiing, open water swimming, powerboat racing, round the world yacht racing, scuba diving, snorkeling, speed sailing, surfing, wakeboarding, whitewater kayaking, windsurfing.

But this list isn’t exhaustive, new extreme sports are being added all the time, such as wingsurfing, parahawking, heliboarding, paintballing.

Professionals in Extreme Sports

The X Games must be credited in bringing extreme sports into our living rooms and have certainly helped young kids take up these more extreme sports, there’s almost not a pavement (sidewalk to you folks across the pond) in the world that hasn’t been skateboarded by a tween. The popularity of extreme being spelled ‘Xtreme’ is almost certainly thanks to the X Games, type Xtreme sports blog or extreme sports blog into your browser and and you’ll get a plethora of sites dedicated to adventure sports.

The Winter X Games are currently held at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colorado and the Summer X Games will be held at the Staples Centre in L.A this year.

The small state Goa, popularly known as ‘paradise for water lover’, has evolved as one of the major adventure destinations of the world. The miles stretched coastal areas, rivers and lakes make it an ideal place for adventurous water sports activities.
